Breathe.
Laugh it out.
Nobody talks about the laughing. They warn you about the hours, the charting, the patient you'll lose on a Tuesday and be haunted by for decades. But nobody talks about how the funniest thing you'll ever hear will be spoken at a whisper in a breakroom that smells of frustration and burnt coffee. A joke, an observation, or a rant that comes exactly when you need it — and that you can't share with anyone in your life, outside of your unit. Nurse humor. It's what gets you to the end of the shift. It's the pressure release valve on a job that would otherwise crush you.
We know that you
get kicked, bitten,
cried on, and told
you're just a nurse.
You deserve better.
We started LOLnurse because the only nurse merch we could find was generic — none of it reflecting the reality of 10k steps before lunch, or combative patients, or charting at 3am — and half of the shirts called you heroes. You don't go swooping in just in time to save the day, and then fly off leaving someone else to manage the chaos. You work for a living — 12+ hours in the trenches — for a paycheck that doesn't match the shift.
Gear can't fix the ratio, but it can get a laugh out of the person who sits next to you at the station. And that's our mission: take what's said in the breakroom and put it in your hands — gear you can wear, carry, and hand off to each other in shows of support, camaraderie, and understanding. So no nurse feels alone in what they're carrying.
Real-world inspiration.
Every design starts with something nurses actually vent or gush about, and finalized designs are run by nurses we know before printing.
Printed on gear you'll use.
Unisex shirts true to size, spiral notebooks that lay flat, dishwasher-safe mugs, stickers that survive a badge reel.
Expression, not explanation.
The gear is the delivery system. The payload is the connection felt when someone in the hallway sees it, reads it, and gets it.
We're not done yet.
We want to design for every specialty and role on the unit. Nobody should go unseen. Say what's missing and we'll fix it!
